Saupriya Solanki
Saupriya Solanki, currently serving as the Secretary of ORISCON, migrated to Australia from Gujarat, India in 2006. His extensive experience in community service began with his role as a Committee Member of the Indian Association of Central Queensland from 2007 to 2010, followed by his tenure as Secretary from 2010 to 2013. During this time, Saupriya organised numerous community engagements and cultural programs for the Indian community in Rockhampton, Gladstone, Gracemere, Yeppoon, and Mount Morgan. From 2010 to 2011, Saupriya took on the role of Multicultural Coordinator for the Salvation Army in Rockhampton, where he worked with refugees, conducted English classes, and arranged curry nights for new migrants. He also served as a volunteer Radio Presenter for Capricorn Community Radio 4YOU from 2010 to 2013, promoting the Indian Music and Hindi language on the radio.
In addition, Saupriya was an Executive Member of the Central Queensland Multicultural Association from 2011 to 2012, coordinating Harmony Day celebrations and Multicultural Fairs with his team. His commitment to public service is further exemplified by his role as a Justice of the Peace (Qualified) for Queensland and a Justice of the Peace for NSW, providing essential services to community members.
Currently, Saupriya is a CALD Leader in the Salvation Army Orana Region, where he continues to serve the migrant community. He is also a founding member and Secretary of the Orana Gujarati Samaj NSW, as well as a Team Member of the Salvation Army Emergency Service. All of these positions have been held in a volunteer capacity, demonstrating Saupriya's dedication to community service and multicultural engagement.
